Our journey so far
I was hoping that my first blog would be to welcome you to our lovely new showroom, which was due to open on Thursday 2nd April. However, due to the terrible times we all find ourselves in, living through the Covid-19 pandemic, we have postponed our launch until restrictions are lifted, and rightly so!
In the meantime I thought it would be great to share with you over several blogs our journey so far, from establishing our brand to the transformation of the showroom.
I love old buildings, their architectural history and their characterful stories, I have spent many hours admiring the beautiful architecture in Cambridge, by far one of the most beautiful cities that we have had the pleasure to live in, so it was only fitting that a Grade II listed property should be home to our first showroom.
I am also passionate about supporting our local community and making where we live a better place for all to enjoy, therefore our home-town of Uttoxeter was to be the destination, following our return in 2018 from 4 years of Cambridgeshire life!
As for a name, well nothing is more important to me than family and friends. Therefore the decision was easy, the business would be named after our first home where family life began with our daughters Isabelle and Emilia, No.42.
Next, why interiors you may ask. An undiscovered ardor of mine that came to light while renovating and project managing our next family home. I found that I had a natural eye for pulling together room concepts, with a focus (bordering on an obsession!) on the detail, so much so that I began to work on projects for family and friends.
Finally, why now? It was during a family holiday to Cornwall last summer while standing on the beach that I decided it was now or never! After spending several years designing spaces ad hoc it was my dream to open my own showroom and share my passion for interiors.
